David Kimani holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Degree (Second Class Honours, Upper Division) from Moi University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
He is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya having been admitted to the Bar in the year 2009. Before his admission to the Bar, David undertook his pupillage at the firms of Njeri Mburu & Company Advocates and Njoroge Regeru & Company Advocates.
Upon admission, he was retained as an Associate Advocate in the firm of Njoroge Regeru & Company Advocates where he was attached to the Commercial, Corporate and Conveyancing Department. He rose through the ranks to become a Senior Associate.
David specializes in the preparation, review, registration and perfection of commercial and security documentation, registration of Companies and other businesses. He also renders assorted opinions to clients on various matters in the areas of Tax, Equity Markets, Banking Law and practice, Insurance Law, etc.
David has wide experience in conveyancing and creation of asset based securities on movable and immovable properties including charges, chattels mortages and hire purchase instruments.
He also negotiates and drafts agreements for asset finance, loans and joint ventures.
David has advised commercial and residential property developers on compliance matters, structures and financing arrangements.
David also handles Intellectual Property matters including trademarks, copyright, patents, utility models and industrial designs. In relation to this, he drafts licensing, assignment as well transfer agreements.
David also handles succession matters including estate planning advisory, drafting of wills as well as Petitioning for Grants of Probate or Letters of Administration of estates.
He also has experience in formation and running of trusts.
